Who is responsible
123Mentor operator is the controller of your personal data. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect
- Account data: name, email, date of birth (to confirm you are 18+), country and time zone.
- Profile data: what you choose to share such as goals, bio, skills, languages and a photo.
- Activity data: requests, messages, session times and attendance, ratings and hours.
- Reliability and credibility scores: calculated from your activity (sessions held, no-shows, late cancellations, replies) and from what can be checked on your profile (LinkedIn address, identity checks, reviews, feedback from mentors). They are shown to the people you work with. Repeated missed sessions can pause your account for a short time. This is an automated rule, and you can ask us for a human review at any time.
- LinkedIn: mentors give a LinkedIn address, which is shown publicly. If a mentor uploads their own LinkedIn data download or connects their account, we use it only to fill in their profile and we store a LinkedIn member ID; we never read LinkedIn pages ourselves.
- Technical data: IP address for security, login protection and to limit repeated sign-ups from one network (kept with the account). We also use it, without storing it, to work out your country so we can pick a suitable language; this lookup uses a database on our own server and your address is not sent to anyone else.
Why we use it
To run the mentoring service: matching, booking, messaging, verifying session attendance, preventing abuse and improving the platform. Our legal bases are performance of the service, our legitimate interest in safety and quality, and, where needed, your consent.
Cookies
We use only essential and functional cookies: to keep you signed in, to protect forms, and to remember the language you choose. We use no advertising or tracking cookies, and fonts are served from our own server.
Who sees your data
Mentors and mentees see profile details relevant to their mentorship. We use service providers for hosting and, when enabled, payments and email delivery. We do not sell your data.
Your rights
You can export or permanently delete your data at any time from Account settings, and you may also ask us to correct your data or object to processing. You can complain to your data-protection authority (in Estonia: the Data Protection Inspectorate).
Retention
We keep data while your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is erased, and anonymous aggregates (such as hours and ratings) may remain.
